At the foothills of Kate’s Point, Mahabaleshwar, along the Krishna backwaters, Bhavatu Valley Stay is designed as a seamless extension of its landscape balancing simplicity, comfort, and a strong connection to nature.
The project reimagines an existing caretaker facility into a compact retreat, introducing two cottages, a kitchen, staff spaces, and an open verandah for dining. The design maximises valley views while preserving the site’s natural character.
Crafted with locally sourced materials like Babool and Tamarind wood, and built in collaboration with local artisans, the spaces are warm, minimal, and naturally ventilated. Large windows frame uninterrupted views, creating a calm and immersive experience.
Part of Anhad Retreat, Bhavatu offers a quiet escape for rest, reflection, and reconnection with the landscape.
